The project has been implemented in Guatemala, through practices collected in Brazil, Ecuador, United stated of America, Costa Rica and Colombia.

Overview of the project

The objective of the project is to contribute to the enjoyment of the rights of people with disabilities through improved personal mobility and accessibility in the metropolitan area of the department of Guatemala.

Good practices in accessible transportation from cities around the world have been collected.

Project updates

The good practices submitted to municipal authorities changed the vision they had on the issue of disability: from a medical approach to a human rights based approach. Other organizations recognized the expertise of the multi-stakeholder committee on the issue of personal mobility of people with disabilities. A diagnosis on access to justice has been started.
