The sixty-third session of the Commission on the Status of Women will take place from 11 to 22 March 2019, at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. Making It Work will be there, alongside two African women activists.

December 3rd marks the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The year’s theme focuses on “empowering persons with disabilities and ensuring inclusiveness and equality". On this occasion, Making It Work’s partner in Cameroon, the Gender and Disability Inclusive Development Group, shares the story of Nina. Nina’s story is one of empowerment and resilience.

On International Women Human Rights Defenders Day, a tribute was paid by AWID for the activists who are no longer with us. Florence Adong-Ewoo is one them. 

On International Day of the Girl Child, the Making It Work team is sharing 3 stories of girls with disabilities that really show what it’s like to be a girl hero.
