On June 13th, 2017, the Conference of States Parties to the CRPD will start in New York City. This will be an outstanding opportunity for one of the member of our Gender and Disability project to share valuable insights during a side-event titled "Together for Ensuring Sexual and Reproductive Health and Human Rights of Women and Girls with Disabilities: How to tackle multiple discrimination and inequalities.".
If you are not already registered to the COSP, but want to attend Antonia's presentation about her good practice in Uruguay, and to exchange with all experts speakers, you can register to this side-event until June 8th here.
Indeed, due to multiple discriminations, millions of women and girls with disabilities worldwide are exposed to various forms of human rights violations and gender based violence. This side-event will discuss opportunities, good practices and challenges that political and development processes provide for the fulfilment of human rights of women and girls in relation to their sexual and reproductive health.
This side-event is organized by the permanent mission of Austria, and co-sponsored by the Permanent Missions of Ethiopia and Antigua and Barbuda, OHCHR, UN Women, International Disability Alliance (IDA), International Disability and Development Consortium (IDDC), CREA, Shanta Memorial Rehabilitation Centre India (SMRC), Handicap International, Inclusion International, Light for the World, Lumos, Women Enabled International, Center for Reproductive Rights, Reproductive Health Matters.
