Making It Work side event at the 5th session of the COSP, 12-14 September 2012

August 28, 2012

The Making it Work (MIW) International Coordination team facilitated a side event on the Making it Work (MIW) methodology at the Fifth session of the Conference of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in order to launch the MIW online good practice database and newly revised MIW tools.

During the panel, members of the Moroccan Collective for the Promotion of the Rights of People with Disabilities presented their experiences using MIW to document good practices as a part of their wider advocacy strategy.   They gave concrete examples of how they succeeded in using good practices to promote and achieve change.  Inclusion International was also on the panel and they outlined how they used MIW within their campaign on article 19 of the CRPD:  the right to live in the community for people with intellectual disabilities.
