It is important to note here that the MIW International Coordination does not fund MIW projects at this time. Those in interested in carrying out a MIW project or including it as a component in a larger initiative must secure funding from outside sources first. Funds can come from institutional donors, foundations, or private/organizational funds.
The goal of this section is to assist you in budgeting and preparing for your MIW project. This includes gathering and analyzing information so that you can turn it into a final proposal for funding. For all these steps, keep in mind the practical steps involved. When planning a project, it is essential to find sufficient funding to carry it out. Consider the resources needed (including human resources, time and skills), activities you wish to carry out and results you aim to achieve.The documents and resources below can assist you with this process.
Remember, though, that each donor has their own criteria and approach for proposals. In applying for funding for your MIW project, follow the guidelines established by your donor. Donors will oftentimes provide materials and/or templates to guide the process for proposals, budgets and timelines.

Now that you have identified the staff for your project, topic and scope (Steps 1-3), it is important to put this into a formal project plan. For that, a logical framework is used to define your activities, objectives and budget needs. You can then create your budget and implementation plan (timing of activities).

Final thoughts and Action Planning: After all your planning in Steps 1-4, compile all the information in your action plan. Creating your action plan over time will allow you to organize all you need to do, determine who will do what and make sure you stay on schedule.
