Defining the Scope of your MIW project
Step 3 of the toolkit will assist you in determining the ideal scope for your MIW project.
Toolkit Step 3
The scope of your project is where the level of impact is directed for your project. In determining your scope, it is important to think about how you will utilize the good practices you collect to affect change. Do you want to influence local, national or regional policies or practices?
For example:
Local:
- In Nicaragua, an organization collecting practices on local inclusive education to affect the decisions of a local education board.
National:
- In Colombia, to document practices on the legal capacity of people with intellectual and psychosocial disabilities; and practices on policies recognizing the capacity of people with such disabilities with the aim of affecting national legal reform.
Regional:
- In West Africa, collecting good practices of local inclusive development across 6 countries to promote inclusive development across the region.
International:
- Globally, collecting good practices on the inclusion of people with disabilities in microcredit lending programs to influence the inclusion of more people with disabilities in such programs (ie. microcredit lenders, mainstream NGOs, etc).
The following documents will help guide you in thinking through this process:
