Disabililty Monitor Initiative: Middle East
The Disability Monitor Initiative (DMI) was launched in 2008, by Handicap International and CBM, alongside Al Hussein Society for the Habilitation/Rehabilitation of the Physically Challenged, Arab Organization of Disabled Persons (AODP), Bethlehem Arab Society for Rehabilitation, and the Lebanese Physical Handicapped Union.
From 2008-present, the DMI has used the Making it Work approach to address the issue of Access to Services for people with disabilities across eight countries in the Middle East: Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Yemen, Palestine, Syria, Iraq and Yemen.

The DMI is now engaging in advocacy on Access to Services to influence changes in both service delivery and policy.
