Implementing organizations
Implemented in partnership with Red Iberoamericana de Entidades de Personas con Discapacidad Física and Asociación Cooperativa del Grupo Independiente Pro Rehabilitación Integral de R.L.

Overview of project
The MIW methodology helps to strengthen advocacy processes so that there is greater visibility around disability rights issues, particularly pertaining to the right to work for people with disabilities.

Project updates - advocacy activities and outcomes achieved
The Ministry of Labour has made several efforts to adapt labour laws for more inclusive employment.
The Asociación Cooperativa del Grupo Independiente Pro Rehabilitación Integral de R.L. established a counseling agency specialized in training people for the workforce as well as to provide awareness-raising sessions to employers on the inclusion of people with disabilities at work.
Overall, the situation of people with disabilities in employment has improved significantly, but there is still a lot to do including: training people with disabilities, making public transportation, companies and public institutions accessible and fighting against stigma and discrimination.
